Migration to the Cloud is still challenging in the ERP market despite its inevitable focus and direction there. There are real reasons to have/keep on premise systems, especially for Manufacturing, given its transaction based processing. Finance and Administrative functions are more easily migrated to the Cloud. This often leads to hybrid deployments and the downfall of this is the data silo effect and challenges of keeping systems in sync. Hosted private systems in the Cloud are certainly an intermediary step in this evolution.
